Haumea spins so fast (once every 4 hours) that it's distorted into a strongly flattened, egg-like shape — unique among known dwarf planets. It has two small moons (Hiʻiaka and Namaka) and a thin ring system discovered in 2017, the first known ring around a trans-Neptunian object. Its unusual shape likely resulted from a massive collision early in the Solar System's history.
